The year 2026 marks an exceptional milestone for Tapas 24, celebrating two decades of life with a series of activities featuring the world’s most influential gastronomic figures.

Since the beginning of the year, renowned chefs such as Ferran and Albert Adrià, the Roca brothers, José Andrés, and Nandu Jubany have joined the commemoration through digital content highlighting the establishment’s significance on the culinary map. The celebration extends beyond the media spotlight, seeking direct engagement with the diner. Through draws for exclusive dinners and private showcookings with Carles Abellán, the restaurant expresses gratitude to the loyal patrons who have turned this Diputació Street basement into a cross-generational and cosmopolitan meeting point.

Returning to Classics and New Limited Editions

This anniversary’s festive calendar revives menu gems that have defined the city’s palate, such as the legendary McFoie and the (“sense feina”) “work-free” chicken wings. 

These offerings coexist with its most awarded recipes, where the truffled bikini —a pioneer in Barcelona— and the Russian salad remain the undisputed stars. The 2026 proposal is further enriched with newly created, limited-edition tapas designed to keep the element of surprise alive for regular guests. This is all part of a complete sensory experience that includes digital interaction spaces, such as a video message photocall, allowing the Tapas 24 community to play an active role in the legacy of a brand that has served over two million portions of happiness.

Carles Abellán
Carles Abellán is the architect of this project and a key figure in the evolution of contemporary Catalan gastronomy.

Trained at the Barcelona Hotel Management School, his career took a definitive leap in 1984 at El Bulli, where he spent six years working directly with Ferran Adrià. This apprenticeship at the pinnacle of the avant-garde led him to found Comerç 24, which held a Michelin star, and create over 19 innovative gastronomic concepts.

Abellán is recognized as the father of the “gastrobar” concept—a formula that democratizes haute cuisine by bringing technical rigor to informal settings. Today, as the gastronomic advisor for Tapas 24, he continues to ensure that the simplicity of artisanal products and the soul of traditional bars remain untouched.
